Hmong Report-What Does HIM Do?

Many have asked for an overview of what HIM does in Thailand and the US. Listed below is an outline we recently sent to the IRS. This outline does not detail all that is done, but gives one a good idea of what we hope to accomplish through God's power.

Work in Thailand

1. Training Hmong People Group in Northern Thailand- Phayao, Chiang Rai, Nan, Phrae, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, and Chiang Mai Provinces. Also Hmong come across the border from Laos. Three HIM associates train people in the following areas:
a. Parenting
b. Hmong Literacy
c. Bible
d. Leadership
e. Discipleship
f. Village Hygiene
g. Citizenship

2. The three HIM associates travel around these Provinces teaching in many villages. The goal is to train village leaders to carry on the training programs in the future, perhaps three or four new leaders in each village. Those from Laos are to go back and train people in their villages. At least 50 to 100 people are trained each week. Occasionally, groups of 150 come together for two or three days.

3. Cell Church Planting

4. All donations are used for expenses of HIM associates, educational supplies, fuel, food for villages meetings, special transportation needs to get some Hmong to meetings, first aid/medical supplies, motorbike/pick-up truck repairs, and tires.

A new motor bike and used 4WD truck were purchased in 2006.

Work in US

The work in the US is conducted in the state of GA. The services are educational classes (ESL classes, computer, resumes, employment, marriage, home safety, parenting), mentoring children, transportation for the needy, and distribute donations to the needy.
