Secondly, we stopped by a new Hmong Village, Ban Thevada in ChiangKham District, Phayao. We shared the Good News to this village and spent the night there. Mrs. Zong (see attached photo)came to saving faith in Jesus Christ this morning and several people were interested in the True Living God. Please pray for the new believers and the people of those two villages that they will come to Christ soon. We

This a report from HIM Leader on the Coffee Ministry, Especially at Phu Yai village

To keep you up date on " Coffee Ministry" in Ban 8 houses across Thailand and Myanmar. We have a good opportunity to communicate with Phu Yai Ban village leaders and 2 shaman. There are 30 families with about 180 people.

I believe that God has touched the shaman's and leader's hearts. They asked many questions regarding Jesus Christ, the True Living God. We answered their questions and they did agree that perhaps there is a True Living God due to the fact, they said, they just followed their ancestors foot step and practiced whatever
their been told. Their believe their ancestors might have misled them.

See the attached photos. One photo is the village. In the group, left row yellow T shirt in the middle is the head leader. 3 other key persons and 2 shaman are on the first row on right. We had a long nights discussion from 8 PM till 03:00 AM in the morning. Photo No 3 is the road condition. We got stuck on the road
due to rain. 9 people were pushing the truck up the hill. It took 2 hours to drive up.

Please pray for the people on this village.

HIM Report-Family of Six Receive Christ

Report from HIM Leader on new Christians in Pam Kae Village:

This is an update on Hmong ministry in Ban Pam Kae, Nan. After we had Bible study and fellowship service, a man and his wife stopped by and had questions regarding the Lord Jesus Christ. Both husband and wife had heard about Jesus Christ, but don't know what kind of god he is. They wanted to know could Jesus help the husband and his family.

The evil spirits (ancestors) caused him sickness for five years. The doctors cannot help, several shamans had offered sacrificial animals to the redeem the lost soul (the soul being separated from the body), but nothing helped. He has spent all the money he had for shaman to help save him through the ancestors, but lost the money for nothing. He is tired of worshiping and sacrificing animals for the ancestors ( evil spirits).

I shared the gospel of Jesus Christ and presented the plan of salvation to the family. Mr. and Mrs. Yua Pov Saethao and 4 children made profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

Thank God for saving this family of 6 people. Please pray for the new family member and the people in that village. See photo ( 4 kids not at home this time).

HIM Report-Request Prayer Regarding the Rainy Season

This is a report and request for prayer from HIM Leader. The rainy season always brings a challenge to the Work in Thailand.

Xeng Lor, who is the HIM Servant in Chiang Rai Province will not be able to go far from his village because of the condition of the roads. His village, Huai Khu, and all the villages he serves are remote and quite dangerous to travel during this time of the year.

Bangyat Her, HIM Servant in Nan Province, is also having trouble getting to several villages in his area. His village is on a main highway so he can get around to some areas. We have been "trapped" on occasions in some villages where Bangyat would like to work. The roads from his village south are very dangerous.

Request from HIM Leader:

Dear Fran,

Just to remind you that it has been raining for 4 days and 4 nights and the sky is still not cleared out. We pray that the weather will cooperate with us on this coming weekend. We have been planning to go back to Phucheefa, Chiang Rai for visiting believer groups and sharing the Good News to the people in Phucheefa areas.

HIM News-HIM Leader going to Chiang Khong

HIM Leader will be in Chiang Khong later this week to meet Hmong who will be coming some distance for Hmong Literacy, Bible Studies, Leadership Training, and Discipleship Training.

Seed is being planted everywhere HIM Leader goes. Please pray for the Harvesters as they are trained to serve the Master. Especially pray for HIM Associates/Planter-Harvesters, Xeng Lor and Bangyat as they go forth among the Hmong in Northern Thailand.

Only God knows what total effect these three servant's ministry is having on the Hmong. We do know that people are "calling" from all around the Northern Provinces, asking for the "Jesus Man" to come to their village.

The "Fields of Hmong" are ripe unto harvest! Please pray that HIM Leader, Xeng, and Bangyat will not only reach Hmong for Christ, but many will be trained to tell others!

HIM Report-Public School in Mae Charim

There has been a major breakthrough in the public schools near the Love Your Neighbor Dorm (LYND) in Mae Charim. Pastor Manit (LYND) has been a great influence at these schools over the years and HIM Leader has also worked there.

Many students from the public dorms have attended studies and services at the LYND. We have had many opportunities to talk to and witness to these students over the years at LYND.
HIM has had two Hmong Student Projects from the US in the past. It is a major Blessing to be asked to teach Hmong Literacy at the schools.

Please pray for Pastor Manit and HIM Leader.

Hmong Report-Break-Through with Shaman

HIM leader reports that two Shaman in Ban Pam Poei are open to hearing the Gospel. He was there last week witnessing to villagers and teaching the Bible. God openned the door for HIM Leader to witness to these two Shaman and he will be going back in a week or so.

HIM Report on Love Your Neighbor Dorm

This is a report from HIM Leader:

"This is to keep you all updated on Hmong Ministry at Love Your Neighbor Dorm, Maecharim, Nan Province. Usually we have 30 Hmong students attend Bible study, Hmong Literacy Classes and other activities. Today there was a special blessing as 10 students made professions of faith in Jesus Christ.

Two directors from the public school dorms were in contact with A. Manit asking for Bible study and Hmong Literacy Classes at their dorms. Many more Hmong communities are interested in Hmong Literacy Classes. I have agreed to expand Hmong Literacy Classes into as many Hmong communities as possible."

Hmong Report-New ChristianFamily-Nan Province

This is a report from HIM Leader:

New family

To keep you up dated on Hmong ministry at Ban Pang Kae, Nan, this Sunday after noon we had Bible study, praise, fellowship service with the group. After finishing with the fellowship service, we went to share the gospel and give our testimonies to several Hmong. Mr. and Mrs. Yee Seamua and son (pictured here) made profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

The couple stated that they got tired of worshiping the spirits ( ancestors) because the spirits always caused them problems, such as bad dreams, sickness, bad luck, family problems etc. Unfortunately, they recently had lost 2 daughters. They believe the spirits of the ancestors caused them serious illiness and they passed away. The doctors found nothing wrong with the children and couldn't help them. The shaman told them that they needed sacrificial animals to the redeem the lost souls. If the parents sacrificed animals for the evil spirits then the daughters would receive healing. Since the shaman did sacrificial animals to redeem the lost souls several times, it still didn't help. Finally the two daughters expired. They do not trust the shaman now. He was just causing them the loss of money and hope. The couple don't think that the shaman has power over the devil. Therefore, please pray for this new family and that they can witness to the other family members also.

HIM Team Leader reports that God worked in the lives of the church members in Huai Khu and Nam Tuang churches during the revivals held this month. They are so excited about what happened in their lives that they are already planning a revival next year.

Hmong Report-What Does HIM Do?

Many have asked for an overview of what HIM does in Thailand and the US. Listed below is an outline we recently sent to the IRS. This outline does not detail all that is done, but gives one a good idea of what we hope to accomplish through God's power.

Work in Thailand

1. Training Hmong People Group in Northern Thailand- Phayao, Chiang Rai, Nan, Phrae, Lampang, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, and Chiang Mai Provinces. Also Hmong come across the border from Laos. Three HIM associates train people in the following areas:
a. Parenting
b. Hmong Literacy
c. Bible
d. Leadership
e. Discipleship
f. Village Hygiene
g. Citizenship

2. The three HIM associates travel around these Provinces teaching in many villages. The goal is to train village leaders to carry on the training programs in the future, perhaps three or four new leaders in each village. Those from Laos are to go back and train people in their villages. At least 50 to 100 people are trained each week. Occasionally, groups of 150 come together for two or three days.

3. Cell Church Planting

4. All donations are used for expenses of HIM associates, educational supplies, fuel, food for villages meetings, special transportation needs to get some Hmong to meetings, first aid/medical supplies, motorbike/pick-up truck repairs, and tires.

A new motor bike and used 4WD truck were purchased in 2006.

Work in US

The work in the US is conducted in the state of GA. The services are educational classes (ESL classes, computer, resumes, employment, marriage, home safety, parenting), mentoring children, transportation for the needy, and distribute donations to the needy.

Hmong Report-Ex-Shaman

When I first met Chia Lor in 2002, I taped his testimony in regard to demon possession. In 2000, HIM Group Leader led him to Christ. He was a Shaman and had a problem of being possessed by demons. It was a stirring testimony of how Christ released him from bondage. It was great to meet with him again in 2006.

Bro. Lor and his wife in the red sweater with the white collar live in Paklang. There are 14 family members which include married children and grandchildren. We came by to have baptismal services today which would include one of his sons. The son had to take a test and was not there.

There was a couple there though that had come to learn about Yexus. We did not baptize that day, but HIM Group Leader led this couple to Christ.

Recently the son we were to baptize and his brother were baptized in a stream in Paklang. They are pictured with Mr. Lor.

Hmong News-Major Vang, Paklang Village

Major Vang was in the Royal Lao Army with General Vang Pao. He and his wife have lived in Paklang for many years. They have their family living with them and take care of the grandchildren as the sons and daughters work.

The Vang's had been having some problems in their marriage and asked around for help from Yexus people. It was suggested to them that they should speak with the HIM Group Leader.

The problem they were having was over Shamanism. They are both Shaman. One worships spirits that live in houses and the other spirits that live outdoors.

HIM associate was able to witness to them and opened the door for further discussions.

They are pictured with Bangyat Her and Fran Keck.

Hmong Report-Hmong Revival Meetings

The HIM Group Leader reports that two revivals are scheduled for the near future. Both these churches are older and well established, but have not had a revival in years. The churches, Nam Tuang in Nan Province and Khu Huai in Chiang Rai Province believe God is directing them in scheduling these meetings.

Please pray for these meetings as many people in the villages have heard the word, but have not come to the Lord. Many others have not heard the word though they are aware of the Christians in these villages.

Also pray for funding as it will cost about $100 in supplies, etc., for each village.

Hmong News-HIM March Report from Group Leader

The Lord continues to bless in Northern Thailand. The HIM Group Leader reports the following blessings:

1. Three families of 18 people received Christ in Payapipak Village, Laotakhao Village, and Huai Khu Village in the Phuchifa area of Chiang Rai Province.

2. Thirteen new Christians were baptized this month. Twelve were in Laotakhao Village and one in Nam Tuang Village, Nan Province. Nam Tuang is the village that Pastor Manit of the LYN Dorm worked in many years ago. Because of his serve among the Hmong, the dorm was started when kids came to live with Manit in order to go to school.

3. There was Discipleship Training for a group of Hmong from Laos in the Chiang Khong area of Chiang Rai Province.

4. Hmong Literacy Classes continue in two dorms.

5. Hmong Literacy Classes were held in two villages in Nan Province, Pam Kae and Paklang for new Christians. Classes were also held in Payapipak Village in Chiang Rai.

6. There was Bible Study and Leadership Training held in five villages.

Lives are being touched everyday through the efforts of the HIM Team, fellow Hmong Christians working and praying in the villages, and your prayers from America. Thank you all very much for your concern and prayers.

Hmong Report-Hmong Family Baptized in Chiang Rai Province

This is the Ly family. Five members of this family were baptized. The oldest son was not present for this picture.

For over three years people have been praying for Chiang Rai Province, especially whose in remote areas along the Lao border. Xeng Lor has been serving many villages during that time. Many were saved and many others heard the word. They speak of the "Little Jesus Man" with the soft voice which resounds with Love.

Now HIM Group Leader is following up on the work of Xeng and getting to other villages. People are hearing about the WORD and calling out for the servants to come and tell them of this Love they have heard from Xeng.

As reportrd before, Lao Hmong christians are coming into the Province to receive Bible study and training.

Please pray for Xeng and "HIM Leader".

Hmong Report-Hmong Celebration at Phuchifa

Last year the HIM Team was in Phuchifa during the annual Hmong Celebration. This is the same road where the resorts are located. We guess there were over 5,000 Hmong there last year. We saw many Hmong from Nan Province and those we knew from villages in Chiang Rai Province.

Hmong Report-Hmong Baptized near Phuchifa

These two groups were recently baptized in the Phuchifa area by the HIM Group Leader. There were 12 people baptized in one group. The parents and 3 of the children were bapyized in the other group.

God is really moving among the Hmong near Phuchifa. Many have been baptized in the last two months.

Please pray that many more will come to Christ! Pray for HIM Leadership as they serve among the Hmong.

Hmong Report-Phuchifa, Chiang Rai Province

Phuchifa is on the Laos border in Chiang Rai Province, Northern Thailand. It is a tourist attraction because of its beautiful scenery and view into Laos. The mountain shown here is among the highest peaks in Thailand and has a beautiful sunrise coming out of Laos.

There are beautiful gardens and tourist facilities for visitors. Not far away, there are Hmong living in primitive villages, having escaped from Laos over the years to live free in Thailand. Not all the Hmong are as poor as this one village
pictured here, but many are.

HIM Group Leader has been serving here among the Hmong for several weeks. Once or twice a month, Hmong are coming over from Laos for Leadership Training and Bible Study.

Hmong Report-February Report from Xeng and Bangyat

Bangyat Her, in the blue jacket, is the HIM associate working out of Nan Province. He has been appointed by the Northern Thai Baptist Convention as the Hmong representative. All the work with Hmong Baptist Churches/Cell Churches that have joined the NTBC is coordinated through Bangyat and all these churches report to him. Bangyat works under the supervision of the HIM Group Leader.

Bangyat also conducts revivals, Bible studies, leadership training, discipleship training, Hmong literacy training, and other classes as may be necessary throughout Northern Thailand.

Xeng Lor, in the yellow shirt, is the HIM associate in Chiang Rai Province. He works under the supervision of the HIM Group Leader.

Xeng's monthly routine is very much like that of the Methodist Circuit Riders of many years ago. He not only pastors a church in Huai Khu, but maintains a regular circuit of villages. He also visits new villages, sharing the Gospel and passing out tracts. In February, Xeng, served in four new villages and the Gospel was well received. He believes some will soon receive Christ.

During this time of year, there are many people sick in the mountain villages. Xeng has visited many sick people in the villages and hospital. Sometimes he has to take people to the hospital on his bike.

Xeng also maintains a jail ministry in Chiang Rai City.

Please pray for these two men as they serve among the Hmong in Northern Thailand.
